took him to the doctor.

the doctor started messing with the mess and well i can't handle gore so i just looked down and shielded my eyes.

doc: OH! i'm sorry. are you going to be ok?

me: yes, i'm fine. i'm not looking. haven't seen anything and well, i'll just sit here.

doc: let me know if you feel like you are going to faint.

me: no worries. as long as i don't look, i'm ok.


so poor cat has a bunch of his fur on his head shaved. and his wounds(from a cat fight gone infected) cleaned out. and i have medicines to give him. also the doc said he needs to be kept away from whatever cat did this.
no there will be no catbox in this house. can't get the teens to consistently wash dishes for themselves...
so i got cat a collar and we will put him on the chain on the front porch like we do pujo(the dog) when he needs to go outside.

i might film the first time on the chain for posterity...

cat returned yesterday evening, too late to take to the vet.

we kept him inside all night. now we will take him to the vet. once we get him into the carrier...

cat has an absess that has ruptured. our attempts to get him into the car this morning, failed and he ran off. so i went and talked to the vet, and then went to walmart and got a soft sided carrier for him.

now i'm sending the kids out to search for him, he can't have gone too far in the rain.

his vet appointment is at 4.

i was playing with deercat last night. i like my cat.

but i'm allergic to cats and generally don't like them as a species. i found him starving and abandoned in tennessee the same weekend i got together with the guy.
he was a pain to transport home in the car. gave me poison ivy on my chin, and welts all over my shoulders and back from him climbing up and over me when i put him on a leash at rest stops. but by the end of the trip he would just lay quietly in my lap or across my shoulders, or on the head rest of the seat and nuzzle his face in my neck.

if i'm allergic to cats, why didn't i just let someone else take him?

i guess it's because i've been abandoned. i knew exactly how the poor thing felt. abandoned by my parents, ex-husband, and so many others...

so i take in abandoned things. maybe someday karma will come around and someone will take me in too.
