OOOO,

I'm not even on call that week. If you're coming within 100 miles of Boulder and don't mind a visit from a disreputable stranger on a loud motorcycle, probably bearing beer, let me know.

I'd probably go further in the car and bring Molly (I hate night driving on a bike in CO):

i am planning on being up in a campground in teh vicinity of estes park, maybe in rocky mountain national park, for thursday and friday night.

long drive for me, for sure. but it's just so beautiful. i do think that is within 100 miles of boulder.

RMNP is virtually in my back yard. 5 miles as the crow flies, 20 or so as the motorcycle drives.

Molly is 85# of brown Newfoundland trouble at the moment. Teenage Newfs are almost as much trouble as their human counterparts.

My home is at 8500' and it gets down to the mid 50s at night. 75-85 during the day

This is presently monsoon season in Colorado, touch and go whether that will extend to your visit. That means that you can pretty much plan on afternoon showers 50% of the time. No big deal, it comes and goes in 10-15 min. Carrying a light weight rain jacket regardless of how the sky looks is generally a good idea.

thanks for the heads up on that. nothing worse than wet teenagers. except maybe a wet dog...

we'll be doing the tent thing. i have a very nice one that will sleep them and me. i think i will pick up some nicer sleeping bags for them though. mine is very old, but still very nice. goose down, i think.

i'm not making much in teh way of plans for our stay, though. except one trip into estes park to look at the tourist stuff. i reckon we will just hike around and take pictures.

You will be in my sister's neck of the woods - she camps out there ALL the time without a problem. (she lives in Greeley)

I was told it is very calming for her.

You know I want to see pictures!

Cool! If you're stopping near Colorado Springs, I have off Wed. Thurs. and Fridays so we can snag a beer or a cold soda. Be sure to bring something warm. It does get nippy at night, especially if it rains in the afternoon. It's usually fairly pleasant. I eat outside for lunch and that's at 1:15 am and rarely need a sweater but some days ........ brrrrrrrrr.
Hope #1's labor goes well. They induced my dd's second and boy was it quick. She went in at 7 am and the baby was born by 1 pm.

could you make a day trip(or even come camp a night) up to estes park?

Possibly. It's about a 3 hour drive for me one way so it would either have to be camping for a night or spending a night with friends in Denver and I'd rather camp. Must get one person tent. Soon.
